We're onto the final deck in our mission evaluation experiment.
Yes, this team might look familiar. Unlike the other three sample decks, this deck had already been written up prior to this article. Without further ado:
NID! 18 experience, and 2/7/5/8 skills. Let's take a quick look at my comment from that deck write up: "There is a dangerous balance being attempted with all the missions in this deck. First off, We need a good helping of Orion and Scorpius glyphs. But we also need missions that can be completed with a minimal amount of initial support. Furthermore, we need a various amount of different glyphs to go on Makepeace (NID Mole), in order to be utilize his special pumping ability."
So this team is not fit for a pure speed deck, not a pure experience deck, and not a pure 2 glyphs deck. Mission selection is wide open! Well... almost...
Yeah, we've had three skip culture decks now. But frankly, it's just dumb luck that I decided on so many skip culture examples. Culture missions aren't much fun to decide anyway. They are always based on whatever version of Daniel Jackson is being run in the deck. I'll see if I can come up with a more interesting culture-oriented deck in the future.
Right... back on topic! Consult Deck 2 and Deck 3 for Culture choices. Wait! but the mission is different! Cultural Exchange is in there! Ah, too true. There are slight variations.
Lots of missions to choose from here. Hint** - Glyphs plays a big role in Science.
The main problem with Combat is that the team has a base of 5, making the high difficulty missions tough complete early game. See what you can come up with.
With a base 8, these will be easiest, so what's the problem? There is neither a Scorpius or Orion glyph to be found... Leaving a wide open field of choices.
After you have come to your own decisions as to what cards were included, and what impact they will have on deck construction, please take a look at the final deck here --> The NID Deck - v1.2 <-- While I don't go into great detail about the mission selection, you can compare your choices to mine. Feel free to comment if you think there was a 100% better option.
Finding a balance in all three, difficulty, experience, and glyph, gives this deck a great amount of flexibility in its ability to win. Each glyph provides the team with increased skills or tricks that will help to earn the next glyph. Leading to a cascade of advantages and ultimately victory.
I hope you have enjoyed these four decks! Good luck in your games, and don't hesitate to try out a new deck for the holiday tournament season!
