Mission Madness

At the beginning of every game, the first action is playing a random mission, out of your twelv... Sorry, have to stop you there... The first action is stopping a team character. After stopping a team character, the next action is playing a random mission, out of your twelv... Nope, wrong again! You draw your starting hand and decide if you want to mulligan. After the opening actions of the game, The beginning of every TURN... ... ok, good... At the beginning of every turn, the first action is playing the top mission, from your randomized stack of chosen missions.
Let us travel down the imaginary trail and envision the following setup: Vala Mal Doran (Con Artist), George Hammond (Front Line General), Cameron Mitchell (Inspiring Influence), and Smith (NID Operator). All ready and waiting along side Ocker (Tok'ra Operative), Oma Desala (Guide to Ascension), and Steven Rayner (Archaeologist)... when suddenly, they get the call! It's time to Avert Disaster! ... ... ... What can I say? Perhaps our mission selection was less then apt. Mission selection is at the core of every hero side, with the proper missions a team is destined for success, or complete failure.
There are three criteria for choosing missions. In no particular alphabetical order. Difficulty, Experience, and Glyph.
Someone had asked on the Stargate Online TCG forums if the missions could be organized from 'best' to 'worst'. Unfortunately, this is not a plausible list, considering that different teams will have completely different requirements when it comes to mission selection. Not to mention that there are 96 possible mission choices. 24 missions of each skill vying for 3 choice spots. Instead I have gone through four different teams, and the missions selection for what I feel is 'best' for that team.
In each team page I have started the discussion of mission selection. Please take the time to look over each team, and decide your own mission choices - before clicking to see the full decks that are associated with the teams. It would help to have your collection in SGOTCG open, filtered to the available 96 missions.
I hope you enjoyed the "Mission Madness"! If you find yourself stuck on mission selection, or are in need of a deck critique, the FAQs and Strategy Guides forum is currently running a Deck Clinic. There is also a Public Decks section here on Kit's site. Two great ways to help you get some personalized deck-specific insight and perspective on your deck construction. I hope to see you all in the casual lobby! (and the Holiday Tournaments!)
This site provides detailed information on individual cards, card combinations, strategies, and card decks used by Stargate TCG. This turn based strategy game requires a depth of strategic thinking that you won't find in many online games. The community around the game tends to be much more civil than most online communities. If you like to spend your time thinking then this game may well be of interest to you, I invite you to check it out.
