A Solid Scout Deck

Introduction

Ok, I sat down and developed a solid scout deck. Playtested and modified until it wins more then it loses by a significant margin.

Tactics

Ok I played around with this deck a bit to get it into a solid working version. I tried mixing light/shadow but it didn't work out so well like some of my other decks. So I came to the conclusion that the best defense is a good offense. Early game is what is tricky with this deck against a good player. Having the quest Job of the White Rose is crucial. Don't play any units to that quest, instead play to the opponents quest. That will tie up both quests lanes to give you a little time to build up power. I went with the wood elf avatar for 2 reasons. For one thing many of the scout abilities are power intense. And the other reason is the synergy of Kidney Blow. Both play styles align perfectly. You'll want to put quest tokens on both sides for max power and damage. Don't dispair if things don't go perfect right off the bat. This deck can kill a full health avatar in a single good hand. That's no joke or exaggeration either. If both quests are on the second stage and you have a token at both quests you'll have 7 power. If you have Dirk of Nightfall equipped and the right cards are in your hand it will look like this.

  1. Bleeder's Talent 2 pt of power (increase attck by one and damage of avatar by 2) Damage bonus is now at 3
  2. Kidney Blow 3 pt of power (attack other avatar with 1 damage bonus for each quest with token) Damage bonus is now at 5
  3. Attack with Dirk of Nightfall automatically doing 1pt of unavoidable damage and exerting opposing avatar while increasing your attack score by 3. This almost always results in you winning the attack. If you have Fire Crafted Belt and Darkwood Shortbow equipped that's another 3 points of attack.
  4. Now if by some miracle your opponent plays a tactic or something to get a higher defense then your attack, you can exert your avatar for attack (with bleeder's talent that is another 3 attack) and then use Vicious Flurry (last 2 pts of power) to unexert your avatar and gain another 1 damage bonus (bonus is at 6). You win the attack and exert for damage bonus for 7 damage (always get one damage token plus additional 6 from avatar). Add in the damage from Dirk of Nightfall and you've done 8 damage to the opposing avatar in a single round of combat. GG. If you didn't have to use Vicious Flurry to win the attack score, you could play gouge (1 automatic damage and raise avatar damage bonus by 1) instead raising total damage to 9 in a single round of combat.

The trick is surviving long enough to pull this combo off. There are plenty of other devastating combo's and Triple Shot is amazing as well. But you need things like Deftdance, Tunic of Dark Reflection, Basilisk Poison, Lethal Resolve, and attacking units to survive up to that point.
